Free 3D Model Reference Pack F - Pose 1 by SenshiStock Free 3D Model Reference Pack F - Pose 1 by SenshiStock
First pose of suggested 3D pack. It's not as extensive as what would probably be the most useful for 3D artists, but hopefully it will be a good base for their work.

It's also great for character reference sheets! :w00t!:

Big Question: I'm watching a 'drawing the female figure' series on a digital artist's YouTube channel, and he's doing the basic female skeleton, yada yada yada, etc. Now he's at the thighs/space between the thighs, and it got me to thinking. How much space is there between a woman's inner thighs when she's standing straight and facing forward? How relaxed is the average stance? Just a quick search on here and I find different poses, some "stiff-assed" like yours here: Base Pack by SenshiStock , not saying you're "stiff-assed" lol. And some more open and "relaxed" like this set that I'm commenting on. I basically want to create a basic character sheet for a female asssassin living during The Civil War--you know, Assassin's Creed game series--but I want it to be right. I've researched character sheets on DA and what they look like. They seem to be more relaxed, even a tilt to one side, at the hip. I always seem to have trouble when drawing that 'space between the thighs' and if they touch at all.

And don't get me started on how to draw a female character if she's supposed to be quite short lol. I've decided I want her to go against the atypical action character: in other words, about 5'0". But that's another question for another day! lol

I think the space would depend on how far apart the legs are, right? And if you want a natural pose, some weight on one leg (called "contrapposto") is more natural than weight evenly spread.

There's the "artist method" of doing a female--or a male--and then there's reality. For instance, people are rarely 8 heads tall. Then again, there's a lot of variation in people. It all gets so confusing!

Haha yes I remember this one time in a store I saw a woman who's legs were like... WAY shorter than average legs are and I was just thinking, "I want to draw you, I want to draw you...how can you BE?" It was very interesting.

hey these are great reference! i wanted to use some of your pics so i can practise 3d modelling humans and stuff (if thats fine with oyu?) i was just wondering though after looking through the packs youve done if you could do the same amount of angles for a neutral shot of your face? as its quite hard to 3d model without a 3/4 perspective and the more pictures the better really!  itd be super handy - let me know , lots of thanks if you do and thanks anyway for the fab stock :) xx

Hi! Glad it looks helpful! Check my gallery for the expression pack, I think that has a 3/4 neutral!

The pictures are cool and I'm definitely going to use them for my modeling, but the only thing I would change is the small arm variation (it's pretty obvious between the front and back pictures). They also have to be scaled to fit together, but I can manage that part :) Thanks for these!

Ah yes, I'm actually setting the timer by hand and then walking back over to pose so I imagine it's not exact. Glad they look helpful :D

Glad to hear it! I know that 3D modelers can use stuff that's a little more high quality than this, but I figure since it's free... ;D Hope it helps!!
