Hey, thanks for drawing those lines on your clothes. It makes it a lot easier to visualize the way the body curves from head to hip, making the pose reference all the more helpful to artists. Great work! :)

You know, I have to say I really appreciate the fact that you aren't a stick model, showing too much skin (and bone)... I love your poses, and you have a great body to work off of. Thank you for your work C:

Glad the stock looks helpful! I think we need models of all types. Hoping more people will be encouraged to try it out! :D

I agree. Models of all body shapes and sizes are very helpful and more representative of the human population in reality. Tall, short, thin, curvy, muscular, lanky, and everything in between. I wish people didn't feel compelled to conform to any one "type" as if any one type is necessarily better than any other. Variety is the spice of life, right?

I think I myself fit more of the "stick" model that the other user mentioned. I can pose in the mirror for some things, but the truth is, my features just aren't well-defined enough to be useful as an art reference, especially when depicting adult women (I have the body of a skinny child. No kidding, the last two times I've been out to dinner with my boyfriend, I've been asked if I wanted a kid's menu. I'm 24 and a US Army veteran, but apparently I don't look like it.) I really am a stick-figure, and while I accept myself for not resembling a heavily-photoshoped super-model, I find I often have to look elsewhere for models.
So, thanks for being awesome.

I am sure that people would find your figure fabulous as a reference. I think every model is useful!

Well, thanks. :) That means quite a lot coming from you.

People sometimes need to draw young characters as well, I suppose, but there doesn't seem to be in the way of stock images for this age groups (unpleasant implications, maybe.) Like I said, I do resemble an older child or young teen. People sometimes need to draw young characters as well, but there doesn't seem to be in the way of stock images for this age groups (unpleasant implications, maybe.) I have given thought into creating some stock of myself holding weapons (because I know how to do it properly and not everyone does,) but now that you mention it, figure reference might be fun, you know, if I can get over the awkwardness.

You probably get asked all the time how you got into making this stock photos for artist reference, how you get comfortable doing it, and whether or not you ever have to deal with rude and inappropriate comments and how you would handle such a thing.

Yeah it is a little awkward maybe, but for me the benefits and usefulness outweigh the rest :D

I started making stock for my own reference, but then found quickly that others could use it too. There's a bunch of rude and offensive things that people say, but I pretty much ignore them. The awesome people who use and benefit from the stock is way larger of a pool of people ^_^

I like the idea of body markings, but if I could suggest placing the markings where the hips and ribcage blocks go, it would really help figure artists place those particular "landmarks". Either that, or marking off head-lengths for proportion purposes.

I'm actually moving away from using these body suits in future photos in favor of a two piece to show the belly button (which a lot of people have asked about) so I'm afraid people are on their own again for guidelines (though I am keeping the ankle and wrist bands).

It was requested and suggested quite a few times; both bodysuits now have the lines though most of the new stock I'm doing will be two piece.

You're welcome! There are a lot of normal, non-actiony poses in the gallery but you might have to dig around in some of the older stuff. The General Drawing Poses and the Life In General poses are probably good places to start :D
